On March 5, 2025, Rep. Zinke posted: "The President is exposing waste, fraud, and abuse. Congress never authorized it, but we will eliminate it." In this tweet, he emphasized the need for Congress to address unauthorized government expenditures.

In another tweet on the same day, Zinke detailed a specific instance of financial oversight: "Right here in Western Montana we had a case of a woman still receiving social security payments years after her passing. Her granddaughter got nowhere trying to correct it with SSA, she called our office and we recouped $116,000. If it’s happening here it’s happening everywhere!" This highlights efforts made by his office to rectify improper Social Security payments.

Further discussing fiscal policy impacts, Rep. Zinke tweeted about potential changes to tax laws affecting family-owned farms: "Trump's tax cuts include an exemption of the Death Tax for family farms and ranches. If that is reversed, passing down a farm or ranch to your kids will be a thing of the past." Here he warns against reversing exemptions that could hinder familial agricultural inheritance.
