Registration is now open for two summer writing camps at Montana State University in July, designed to assist young writers in developing their skills. The camps cater to students from third to 12th grade and include activities such as field trips, writing games, and workshops with local authors across various genres. The camps will be led by faculty from the Yellowstone Writing Project, part of the university's Department of English.
A final showcase event on July 18 will allow parents to celebrate the achievements of their children.
The Youth Writing Camp is scheduled for July 14-18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., targeting students entering fifth through 12th grades. The cost for day campers is $300, while those opting for on-campus accommodation will pay $825. Registrations after May 31 will incur an additional fee of $50.
For younger writers entering third and fourth grades, the Young Writer’s Camp will take place from July 15-18, also between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This camp costs $250 without overnight lodging options on campus. After May 31, the price increases to $275.
