The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at Montana State University is set to host a virtual Friday Forum on March 14, focusing on the topic "What's Happening in the 69th Montana Legislature?" This event will take place online via Zoom from noon to 1:30 p.m. and is open to the public without charge.
The forum will include a presentation that provides an overview of the citizen legislature structure and updates on significant bills under consideration in the current legislative session. The presentation aims to explain legislative procedures and inform attendees about ways they can engage in the process through public comments, testimony at committee hearings, and other means.
JP Pomnichowski, who has served two terms as a state senator and three terms in Montana's House of Representatives, will be the featured speaker for this March Friday Forum. Pomnichowski has also held a leadership role as minority whip in the Senate. A resident of Bozeman for four decades, she graduated from MSU and has been involved with various city, county, neighborhood boards, environmental councils, and more.
OLLI at MSU holds its Friday Forums on the second Friday of each month from September through May. Interested participants must register by visiting montana.edu/olli or directly on Zoom before March 14 at 11 a.m. After registration confirmation, participants will receive an email containing the Zoom link and instructions for joining the program. Recordings of past forums are available on OLLI MSU's recordings page at montana.edu/olli/recordings.
OLLI at MSU operates under MSU Academic Technology and Outreach (ATO), which supports and advances MSU's land-grant mission through outreach and engagement opportunities. Additional information can be found online at montana.edu/olli.
