After the Yellowstone County Health Department issued an order limiting the size of any gatherings in the county to no more than 25 people, the Montana Farm Bureau Federation (MFBF) canceled its annual meeting that had been scheduled to take place in Billings from Monday, Nov. 9 to Thursday, Nov. 12.
In place of the annual statewide meeting, each district will now hold a meeting on Saturday, Nov. 10 in order for voting to take place, according to a post on the MFBF website.
“These groups should be small enough to meet the current COVID-19 restrictions,” the post states. “MFBF staff, working with the district directors, will secure a suitable location and will provide a lunch for the delegates involved.”
Each district will be asked to make nominations for district director, Women’s Leadership Committee and YF&R Committee, according to the post. After nominations are made, the separate districts will join in a single Zoom call to cast votes and participate in the delegate session.
Those who already registered for the annual convention will be issued refunds, according to the release.
