The Museum of the Rockies in Bozeman is set to unveil a new exhibition featuring the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered. "Sue: The T. rex Experience" will open with a members-only event on February 7 and to the general public on February 8. This special exhibition highlights Sue, a T. rex unearthed in 1990, and offers visitors an immersive journey into the prehistoric world.

Scott Williams, director of exhibitions at the museum, expressed enthusiasm about hosting this exhibit. “Hosting ‘Sue: The T. rex Experience’ at MOR is a ‘dino-mite’ moment for us,” he said. “As the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex specimen ever found, Sue is a rock star of the dinosaur world. We’re beyond excited to share this world-famous dinosaur and their story with our visitors.”

The exhibition includes several key features such as an exact cast of Sue's skeleton measuring 40 feet long and 13 feet tall at the hip, a life-sized model depicting Sue in battle with an Edmontosaurus, digital animations of Sue’s environment, and interactive stations where guests can engage with bronze casts of bones and other sensory experiences.

Jaap Hoogstraten from the Field Museum in Chicago commented on showcasing Sue in this updated format. “We can’t wait to reintroduce Sue to the world,” he said. “Sue is the crown jewel of the Field’s collections, and now we’re finally showcasing them the way they deserve.”

Museum members are invited to attend an exclusive opening event on February 7 at 6 p.m., which will include refreshments, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and discussions with experts like Thomas Cullen from the Field Museum, author-illustrator Ted Rechlin, and John Scannella from MOR.

Further details about membership and tickets are available on museumoftherockies.org.
