MSU honors students and mentors at Founders Day Awards for Student Excellence

Montana State University will honor 40 students and their mentors at the 43rd annual Founders Day Awards for Student Excellence. The event is scheduled for noon on Friday, February 14, in the Strand Union Ballrooms.

Students are nominated by faculty from their respective colleges or departments. To qualify, nominees must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and demonstrate leadership on campus and community service. Each student selects a mentor to be recognized alongside them at the ceremony hosted by the MSU Alumni Foundation.

Tickets for the event are priced at $30, with registration open until February 11 at msuaf.org/excellence.

The list of award recipients includes students from various colleges within the university:

- From the College of Agriculture: Paula Diaz (Bozeman), Chloe Hinson (Ellicott City, Maryland), Colton Noyes (Toston), and James O'Connor (Charleston, South Carolina).

- In the College of Arts and Architecture: Emma Bergman (Great Falls), Makayla Camel (Ronan), and Octavia Fisher (Bozeman).

- Representing Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship: Shelbee Austin (Lakewood, Colorado), Will Brazda (Huntington Beach, California), Aleisha Dutton (Billings), Ava Rosenzweig (Bozeman), and Andrew Verenski (Kenosha, Wisconsin).

- Students from the College of Education, Health and Human Development include Tiana Carney (Bozeman), Lola Gannett (Bozeman), Elizabeth Hickey (Hobson), and Shelby Smith (Arlee).

- Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering honorees are Tyler Delridge (Missoula), Liam Harrington-Wojak (Missoula), Henry Jacobson (Lake Tapps, Washington), Dirk Kaiser (Bozeman), Grace Roemig (Excelsior, Minnesota), Sarah Shenk (Billings) and Chloe Yordy (Longview, Washington).

- From the College of Letters and Science: Kaylin Bruckhart (Cohagen), Becky Catlett (Bozeman), Heidi Hansch (Sandpoint, Idaho), Sarah Heller(Helena ), Zane Haroldson(Manhattan ), Breonna Lucas(Bend , Oregon ), Norah Mish-Flanagan(Denver , Colorado ), Aster Sabin(Belgrade ), Liam Shores(Portland , Oregon )and Kaylee Stubbs(Billings ).

- Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing students Aksana Ashbaugh(Lakeside ), Grace Browder(Longview , Texas )and Rebecca Turley(Musselshell ).

- Graduate School honorees include Courtney Dolan(Billings )and Paytyn Wilson(Bainville ).

Gallatin College MSU recognizes Halle Conover(Sterling , Colorado )and Molly Schifferns(Belgrade ).

Each student has chosen a mentor who will also be acknowledged during this event.
