Work Continues on the Yellowstone Shortline Trail

Work continues on the Yellowstone Shortline Trail! Over the last week, contractors were able to lay 1.9 miles of asphalt beginning at the edge of the Town of West Yellowstone.  Subgrade surface prep continues along the length of the trail, along with prep of access roads so cranes will be able to get into the three bridge sites.  The paved section of trail is now open for non-motorized use.  Occasional closures may still be needed as crews put finishing touches on the first stretch.

The Yellowstone Shortline Trail is a public-private partnership between the U.S. Forest Service and the Museum of the Yellowstone.
