Trumpeter Wayne Bergeron will visit Montana State University (MSU) for a master class and performance on the weekend of October 25-26. The events are organized by MSU’s School of Music and are open to the public.

Bergeron, who began his prominent career as lead trumpet with Maynard Ferguson’s band in 1986, has since contributed to over 500 television and film soundtracks, including “Frozen,” “Mission: Impossible III,” “Spider-Man,” and “Crazy Rich Asians.” He has also recorded with artists such as Beyoncé, Kenny G, and My Chemical Romance.

The master class will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on October 25 in Reynolds Recital Hall at Howard Hall on the MSU campus. Admission is free.

On October 26 at 7:30 p.m., Bergeron will perform with MSU’s One O’clock Jazz Band, directed by assistant professor Ryan Matzinger, at the Ellen Theatre in downtown Bozeman. Tickets for this event are priced at $19.25 and can be purchased through the theater’s website.

The events receive support from several sponsors, including the School of Music, Eckroth Music, Gallatin Trumpet Guild, International Trumpet Guild, Yamaha Music, and Yellowstone Theological Seminary.
