Montana State University thrower Sydney Brewster was named Big Sky Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week following her performance at the Stanford Invite, according to an April 6 announcement from the conference office.

Brewster’s continued recognition highlights her strong start to the outdoor season and underscores her consistent success in shot put events. The Bobcats have now received three total honors during this outdoor season, with Brewster earning two awards and teammate Tilde Bjerager also being recognized for a school-record run in the 400-meter hurdles.

At the Stanford Invite on Friday, Brewster won the shot put invite with a throw of 17.00 meters (55 feet, 9.25 inches), finishing more than two meters ahead of her closest competitor. This mark was achieved on her second attempt and helped maintain her undefeated record in shot put at the start of this year’s outdoor campaign. Earlier in the season, she recorded a mark of 17.12 meters (56-2) at the Cat-Griz Dual/Al Manuel Invitational, which currently ranks eighth nationally.

Brewster has now accumulated four weekly awards across both indoor and outdoor seasons for 2025-26. The Bobcats will pause competition this weekend before returning to California for upcoming meets including the Bryan Clay Invite from April 16-18, Pacific Coast Invite on April 16, and Beach Invite from April 17-18.
