A manufacturing company in Bozeman is taking steps to help restructure ventilators for Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, according to the Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
As the impact of COVID-19 continues, Knick Machining is working with Long Beach’s GB Remanufacturing company to redevelop ventilators.
Joe Evert, GB Remanufacturing’s director of operations, told the Daily Chronicle, “We hear about all these companies helping. This guy doing 3D face masks and these mom-and-pop stores sewing face masks together. We thought, ‘How can we help?'’”
They certainly found a way to do so, as Evert issued 100 ventilator pieces to the Long Beach hospital. Evert and his family’s engineering skills, along with Knick's ability to develop fresh ventilator pieces, appeared to be a perfect match for the two.
“With stuff like this that directly goes into health equipment, it just seems like a very small thing we could do,” Sheila Knick, who works as the office manager for Knick Machining, said, according to Bozeman Daily Chronicle.
