Norah Seidl finished the opening day of the Texas Golf Throwdown in sixth place after recording a hole-in-one during her second round at The Woodlands Country Club. Seidl, competing individually, completed her day with a 1-over 146. The Montana State Bobcats team ended the first round in 14th place with a score of 311 and had a score of 301 through 16 holes in the second round before play was suspended due to darkness.

Montana State head coach Brittany Basye commented on the team’s performance: “Very tough day out there for our five. Norah had a hole-in-one and is playing great – super proud of her. Golf is hard, and it’ll knock you down very quickly. We have to learn from the day and tee it up tomorrow and try to pick up some strokes. We learn from the good and the bad. Today wasn’t awesome, so we learn and keep fighting. They will recover and learn because that’s who they are. Norah has put herself in a great position for a good finish. She will battle it out tomorrow.”

Seidl’s rounds included scores of 72 and 74. She began with a birdie on No. 18, followed by five consecutive pars, two more pars, two bogeys to close out the front nine, then finished with seven bogey-free holes including birdies on Nos. 11 and 14 for an even-par first round. In her second round, she repeated her birdie on No. 18, made par on holes one through seven, then achieved a hole-in-one on the par-3 eighth using a 7 iron from 160 yards—her team’s first ace this season—and added another birdie on No. 11.

For the team competition, Heinz led with a morning score of 75; Wilson and Greeny each posted scores of 77; Montoya contributed an 82 as part of their tied-for-seventh opening-round finish. Heinz’s highlights included par or better over seven straight holes beginning at No.8 with a birdie at No.11; Wilson made birdies at Nos.9 and 11; Greeny opened with eight straight pars then added late-round birdies; Montoya carded birdies at Nos.6 and 9.

In the afternoon’s unfinished second round due to darkness, only Montoya completed play (87). Wilson stands at +8 with two holes left; Graham is also +8 with one hole remaining; Greeny is +10 (two holes left); Heinz sits at +11 (one hole left).

Iowa State leads after two rounds at one under par (575), followed by Nebraska (+21) with two holes remaining, while Texas State holds third (+26). Individually Iowa State’s Nichakorn Pinprayoon leads at four under par ahead of teammate Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn (-2) in second place; Oral Roberts’ Avery Blake is third (-1), while Seidl remains close behind.

The Bobcats are scheduled to complete their second round Tuesday morning before joining Nebraska and Cincinnati for final-round play.
