The NCAA has announced that the 2026 National Collegiate Ski Championships will be moved to Utah due to a lack of snowfall in Bozeman, Montana. The event was originally planned to take place at Bridger Bowl and Crosscut Mountain Sports Center, hosted by Montana State University.

Despite the change in location, the championship dates remain from Wednesday, March 11, through Saturday, March 14. The Alpine competitions are now set for the Spencer F. Eccles Olympic Mountain Center at Utah Olympic Park in Park City. Nordic events will be held at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center in Midway.

The schedule of races is unchanged: giant slalom on March 11, 7.5K classic interval starts on March 12, slalom on March 13, and the event concludes with 20K freestyle mass starts on March 14.

According to the NCAA statement: “Insufficient snowfall in the Bozeman area this winter necessitated the difficult decision to relocate the competition.”

Montana has experienced below-average snowfall this winter season, impacting outdoor sporting events across the region.
