The Museum of the Rockies at Montana State University is set to open a new café, Rocky Rex’s Roasts, on Saturday, December 6. The café will feature signature coffee blends and pastries from Indulge Bakery at Montana State University. It is named after the museum’s T. rex mascot and aims to create a family-friendly environment for visitors.

The opening event includes a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 10 a.m., featuring winners from the café’s naming contest. Complimentary drip coffee from Yellowstone Coffee Roasters will be available between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The café’s regular hours are Tuesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., with free parking and Wi-Fi provided.

In conjunction with the café launch, the museum will hold Member Appreciation Days in its store on December 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. During these days, members receive a 20% discount on merchandise while all visitors can purchase Peyote Bird jewelry at a 40% discount. Special activities are planned for members during this period.

Emily Criswell, associate director of visitor services at the museum, stated: “We’re thrilled to celebrate Rocky Rex’s Roasts with the public and invite our members to a weekend of celebration. The new café and these member events reflect our ongoing efforts to deepen engagement, support our community and enhance the museum experience.”
