Montana State University’s women’s tennis team will travel to Colorado this weekend for matches against the University of Colorado and Colorado State University. The Bobcats begin their trip in Boulder on Friday before heading to Fort Collins for a Sunday contest.

The Montana State team enters these matches with a 2-0 record, having recently defeated Marquette 6-1 and North Dakota 4-3 during their season-opening road trip in Grand Forks, North Dakota. Both Colorado and Colorado State are starting their seasons this weekend.

“We are excited for another great opportunity this weekend in Boulder and Fort Collins,” said Montana State coach Hailey Barrett. “These are two of the best teams in our region and we know both matches will be a battle.”

Last season, Colorado posted a 9-14 overall record and went 2-11 in Big 12 conference play. The Buffaloes have added three new players to a roster led by seniors Anya Nelson and Rixt Van der Werff, as well as returning graduate student Aya El Sayed.

Colorado State finished its previous campaign with a 4-18 overall record, including a 2-8 mark in the Mountain West Conference. This year’s squad features seniors Hanna Haber, who transferred from Metro State, and Luana Avelar, who is returning after missing last season due to injury.

Montana State’s lineup includes senior Angel Bean, who was named Big Sky Women’s Tennis Player of the Week following her performance at No. 3 singles. Bean and teammate Terezie Stverakova each hold undefeated records early in the season.

Friday’s match against Colorado is scheduled for 6 p.m. at Meadows Tennis Club. The Bobcats will then face Colorado State on Sunday at 12:30 p.m., with play set for the Fort Collins Country Club courts.
