The Montana State women’s tennis team will travel to Boise, Idaho, this weekend for two dual matches. The Bobcats are scheduled to play Boise State on Friday at 6 p.m., followed by a match against Santa Clara on Saturday at 11 a.m. Both contests will be held at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center in Boise.

Live statistics will be available for the match against Boise State, but there will be no live results provided for the contest with Santa Clara.

“Boise State and Santa Clara will be two more tough tests for us,” head coach Hailey Barrett said. “We have learned a lot from our first four matches and have gained a lot of confidence, but there is a lot of work to do against these two quality teams. We need to be ready to play smart and aggressive. We are excited to see what we can do and want to finish this stretch of the season well.”

Montana State enters the weekend with a 3-1 record. Last Friday, they lost 7-0 to Colorado but recovered with a 4-1 win over Colorado State on Sunday. In that match, after dropping the doubles point, Montana State won four consecutive singles matches from the top-four courts. Terezie Stverakova secured the victory with her straight-set win over Dylan Voeks on court No. 4.

Friday’s meeting with Boise State is the second consecutive matchup for Montana State against a Mountain West opponent. The Broncos hold a 1-1 record ahead of their morning match against BYU before facing Montana State in the evening. Historically, Boise State leads the series between these teams 26-19; their last encounter was on January 27, 2023, when Montana State lost 4-1 in Boise.

On Saturday, Montana State and Santa Clara will meet for the second time in as many seasons. Their previous contest was narrowly won by Santa Clara, 4-2, on January 25, 2025, at Ronca Tennis Center in San Luis Obispo, California. Santa Clara began its current dual-match season with a loss to Fresno State earlier this week.

After this weekend’s matches, Montana State will have several weeks off before beginning Big Sky Conference play at Idaho on February 20. They are also scheduled to face Washington State in Pullman on February 22 before returning home for their first home match against Sacramento State on March 1.
