Montana State University’s women’s basketball team is set to play Weber State on Saturday at the Dee Event Center in Ogden, with tipoff scheduled for 2 pm. This game will be the Bobcats’ fourth in eight days.
The Bobcats are coming off their first Big Sky Conference loss of 2026, having been defeated by Idaho State 79-60 on Thursday. The defeat marked the team’s largest margin of loss in a conference game in nearly two seasons.
Coach Tricia Binford commented on her team’s approach following the setback. “We need to get back to perfecting the simple,” she said. “We need to share the basketball and defend better in the halfcourt.”
Heading into Saturday’s matchup, Montana State holds a 13-5 overall record and is 6-1 in Big Sky play. Weber State has a 6-14 record and remains winless in conference games at 0-7. Despite their record, Weber State has been effective defensively, limiting opponents to 39.3 percent shooting from the field and just over 30 percent from three-point range, both ranking fifth among Big Sky teams.
Montana State’s field goal percentage stands at 42 percent for the season but dropped to 32.3 percent during Thursday’s loss at Reed Gym, where Idaho State led for more than half an hour of game time. The Bobcats will try to avoid losing consecutive games for the first time in two seasons.
Fans can watch Saturday’s contest via ESPN+ or listen through the Bobcat Radio Network with Daniel Salle providing commentary.
