The College of Letters and Science at Montana State University is organizing a reception to recognize four faculty members who have recently published books. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 18, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Alumni Foundation’s Great Room, located at 1501 S. 11th Ave. The reception is open to the public and free of charge.
A discussion will take place during the event between William Thomas, dean of the College of Letters and Science, and Ada Giusti, a professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures. They will discuss Giusti’s new book, “Il Richiamo del Grocchio: Storie di Emigrazione e di Ritorno Nella Val di Lima Lucchese.” According to the announcement, “The book, whose title translates to ‘The Call of the Grocchio: A Story of Emigration and Return to the Lima Valley in Lucca,’ tells the stories of emigrants returning to their hometowns, with testimonies from villagers of two towns in Italy’s Lima Valley.”
Other faculty authors being recognized include Dan Flory, professor in the Department of History and Philosophy for his work “African American Film Noir and Philosophy,” Sarah Johnson, assistant teaching professor in Sociology and Anthropology for “Cinema and Feminism,” and Scott Parker, assistant teaching professor in English for “Teaching Without Teaching.”
