The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Montana State University will hold a virtual Friday Forum on November 14 to address recycling in Bozeman and Gallatin County. The event, titled “Recycling in Bozeman: Availability, Impacts and Challenges,” is scheduled from noon to 1:30 p.m. via Zoom and is open to the public at no cost.

Speakers for the forum include Nick Ross, who serves as the city of Bozeman’s director of transportation and engineering and manages solid waste operations, as well as Dave Leverett, owner of We Recycle Montana. Leverett brings over three decades of commercial recycling experience in the Greater Yellowstone region.

The discussion will focus on local and regional recycling efforts, including the current status of recycling in Gallatin Valley, opportunities within the commercial sector, and challenges faced by both consumers and service providers.

Friday Forums are held monthly through May on the second Friday. Those interested must register before 11 a.m. on November 14 to participate. Registered attendees will receive an email from Zoom with access details prior to the event. More information and registration are available at www.montana.edu/olli/offerings or by calling 406-994-6646.

According to organizers, “OLLI at MSU is a program of Academic Technology and Outreach, which provides opportunities for outreach and engagement.”
