Montana State University will hold its 143rd commencement ceremony on Friday, December 12, at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. The university anticipates awarding a total of 1,006 degrees during the event.

The Office of the Registrar projects that 805 undergraduate students, 117 master’s students, and 30 doctoral students will receive their degrees this fall semester. Additionally, Gallatin College MSU expects to confer associate degrees or certificates to 54 students. Graduate students who completed their degrees during the summer session are also eligible to participate in this ceremony.

Doors for the event will open at 8:30 a.m., with the processional beginning at 9:40 a.m. To help speed up entry into the venue, Montana State is asking graduates and guests to leave bags and other belongings in their vehicles if possible. However, this is not mandatory. Cellphones and keys can remain in pockets while passing through metal detectors.

The commencement ceremony will be available via livestream for those unable to attend in person. A link to watch will be provided on December 12 on the university’s commencement website.

Parking on campus will be free throughout the day of commencement. Bobcat lots 10 and 15 are located nearest to Brick Breeden Fieldhouse. Additional parking information can be found by visiting the campus parking website.
