Montana State University has announced the schedule for its 2025 Homecoming week, which will run from Monday, Sept. 22, through Sunday, Sept. 28. The week will feature a series of events aimed at engaging students, alumni, and community members across Bozeman.

The theme for this year’s Homecoming is “Montana Mixtape, Bobcats on the Beat.” Events are organized by MSU and the MSU Alumni Foundation to encourage Bobcat spirit on campus and throughout the city.

Activities begin Monday with ’Cats inside the lines virtual coloring, where fans can submit coloring pages for a chance to win an MSU Bookstore makeover valued at $100. Also on Monday evening, North and South Hedges residence halls will host a Go ’Cats lighting event with food and entertainment.

Tuesday features a concert at Malone Centennial Mall from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Wednesday night, there will be a lighting of the “M” at Story Mill Park in Bozeman to celebrate Homecoming.

Thursday’s schedule includes an alumni bookstore open house at the Strand Union Building from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., featuring trivia and discounts on logo gear.

Friday is designated as Blue and Gold Friday; members of the MSU community are encouraged to wear school colors. Additional events include professional photographs at Alumni Plaza’s Spirit statue, a hike up the College “M” trail with prizes for early finishers, alumni happy hour at Rocking R Bar downtown, an awards ceremony in the Strand Union Building ballrooms honoring recipients of Homecoming awards—tickets required—and a choral reunion rehearsal led by School of Music professor Kirk Aamot.

Other Friday events include a pep rally on Main Street with coaches and players, fraternity and sorority alumni social at Kimpton Armory Hotel’s music hall, and Friday Night Festival with live music and lawn games followed by a drone show at Dyche Field.

Saturday begins with Serenade before the parade performed by university choirs at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. The ASMSU Homecoming parade follows on Main Street. Tailgating takes place starting at 11:30 a.m. on Kagy Practice Field before the football game against Eastern Washington University kicks off at Bobcat Stadium at 2 p.m.; tickets can be purchased via TicketsWest or through the Bobcat Ticket Office. That evening also features an MSU volleyball match against Portland State University in Shroyer Gym.

Homecoming week concludes Sunday with the Bobcat trail challenge held at Crosscut Mountain Sports Center—a race open to individuals or teams requiring registration.

Further details about each event can be found on Montana State University’s official Homecoming website or through the MSU Alumni Foundation’s schedule page. For media inquiries or interviews regarding Homecoming activities, Nancy Hines serves as vice president of strategic communications for the MSU Alumni Foundation.
