Registration is now open for the Fall Water School, a three-day conference at Montana State University in October aimed at providing training for water and wastewater operators in Montana.

The event will take place from October 14 to 16, with sessions scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 14 and 15 in the Strand Union Building on MSU’s campus. Speakers from across the country are set to lead sessions covering topics such as water quality and well operation and maintenance.

Attendees can participate in up to 20 hours of training that count toward their water or wastewater licenses. The Montana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will also offer certification review sessions, which end with certification exams. Operators who wish to take an exam must register with the DEQ before the conference.

On October 16, additional training opportunities and facility tours will be available at various locations around Bozeman from 8 a.m. until noon. Free preconference workshops, including a math review session, are planned for October 13 from 1 to 5 p.m. in the SUB.

“Fall Water School is presented by the Montana Water and Wastewater Operators Initiative, which is a collaborative effort between the Montana DEQ and MSU’s Department of Civil Engineering and Academic Technology and Outreach.”

The registration fee for Fall Water School is $350. More information about registration can be found at https://ato.montana.edu/waterschool/.
