Montana State University names alumni award recipients for homecoming

Fourteen individuals will be recognized as alumni and honorary alumni award recipients by Montana State University during its upcoming Homecoming celebrations on Friday, Sept. 26. The College Awards are presented to those whose service or contributions have notably advanced the university or left a lasting impact.

The awards honor achievements that reflect the standards and values of both MSU and the MSU Alumni Foundation. Honorees are recommended by faculty and staff from across the campus, with final selections made by the dean or program director of each nominating college.

Award recipients are as follows:

In the College of Agriculture, Chase Rose (2013 graduate) will receive an Alumni Achievement Award. Steve Kwok (1985 graduate) is being recognized in the College of Arts and Architecture.

DeeDee (Atchley) Rixe, class of 1982, will be honored by the Jake Jabs College of Business and Entrepreneurship. Dan and Margie (Johnstone) Nelson, graduates from the 1980s, are recipients in the College of Education, Health and Human Development.

The Norm Asbjornson College of Engineering has selected Tyler Lowrey and Harriette Lowrey as Honorary Alumni.

Gallatin College MSU’s Alumni Achievement Award goes to Kiyomi Bramlette (2019 graduate).

Honorary Alumni honors in the College of Letters and Science go to Katherine Crawford and Robert Rydell.

Dania (Lauridsen) Block, who graduated in 2000, receives an Alumni Achievement Award from Mark and Robyn Jones College of Nursing.

At-large honorees include Jeff Sipes (1986 graduate), Pat Sletten (Honorary Alumnus), and Jane Thayer (Honorary Alumna).

“The College Awards recognize MSU alumni or others whose extraordinary service has advanced the university or has made significant, lasting contributions to MSU. Honorees’ professional, personal, civic and philanthropic pursuits must reflect the high standards and values associated with MSU and the MSU Alumni Foundation. They are recommended by faculty and staff across campus and selected by the dean or program director of the nominating college.”
