More than 250 employers are expected to attend Montana State University’s annual Fall Career Fair, which will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse in Bozeman. The event is organized by MSU’s Career, Internship and Student Employment Services and is open to both students and alumni seeking internships or job opportunities.

The career fair will feature a variety of local, regional, and national organizations. Participating employers include Billings Clinic, the City of Bozeman, Great West Engineering, Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks, onXmaps, Stockman Bank and others. Students can view the complete list of registered employers through MSU’s Handshake website, which serves as a platform for finding jobs and internships.

Elizabeth Feary, director of Career, Internship and Student Employment Services at MSU said: “From orientation to graduation and beyond, our dedicated team at MSU Career Services helps students thrive along their career pathways. We provide a variety of services from one-one-one coaching to workshops, job and internship resources to career fairs and interview prep.”

Events related to the fair begin with a networking reception on Tuesday, Sept. 30 from 4 – 6 p.m., where representatives from over 100 companies will meet informally with students. On Thursday, Oct. 2 there will be an Interview Day running from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., allowing students formal interview opportunities with employers.

Feary encouraged participation across all academic disciplines: “When students actively engage in career fairs, prep events and coaching, they’re not just preparing for a job—they’re taking ownership of their future careers,” she said.

MSU Career Services provides several resources leading up to the fair such as mock interviews and resume assistance. There is also an annual “Prep the Student” event scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 23 where free professional attire is available for students who need it. Additionally, the Margaret Alderson Etiquette Dinner takes place on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 6 p.m., offering guidance on professional etiquette and interview skills; this event costs $15 for students but is free for veterans.

A detailed schedule of events can be found online along with employer registration information at https://www.montana.edu/aycss/careers/events/career-fair/career-fair.html. Students are advised to activate their HireABobcat.com accounts before attending the fair.
