Montana State University recognized thirteen individuals for their contributions at the 37th annual Celebrating Excellence in Service and Employee of the Year awards ceremony on April 16.
The event highlighted the important role that classified and professional staff play in supporting the university’s mission. The awards are given to those who demonstrate excellence in competence, courtesy, reliability, safety, and overall exemplary service throughout their careers at Montana State University.
Each year, two individuals are selected for each of four categories: competence (Nick Zelver from the Technology Transfer Office and Jeanne Carter from TechLink), courtesy (Halley Perry from Career Services and Bill McKenney from the Dean of Students office), reliability (Teresa Wilhem from Culinary Services and Christopher Lavery from Parking and Transportation Services), and safety (Brian Kassar from Counseling and Psychological Services and Katie Daughenbaugh from WWAMI). Ronald Ramsfield of the Department of Plant Sciences and Plant Pathology received the Bobcat Lifetime Achievement Award for his ongoing commitment to service. Additional honors included RC Townsend receiving the Academic Advising Award; Ann Bernard with the Excellence in Outreach award; Hilary Becker earning Excellence in Innovative Service; and Susan Kelly being presented with the President’s Award for Championing Campus Values.
