Montana State University’s College of Agriculture will hold its annual Celebrate Ag event from November 2 to 8 on the Bozeman campus. The week-long series is designed to honor the university’s agricultural students, faculty, alumni, and community supporters.

Celebrate Ag has expanded from a two-day format to a full week since last year, in collaboration with the Montana Agricultural Experiment Station and MSU Extension. The schedule includes decorated agricultural equipment on campus, a panel featuring young leaders in agriculture, the Agricultural Economics Conference, and a tailgate event before Saturday’s Bobcat football game.

The highlight of the week will be the presentation of the 2025 Outstanding Agricultural Leader Award, which is described as MSU’s highest recognition in agriculture.

“We look forward to Celebrate Ag every year because of the many opportunities it presents to engage with our community,” said Sreekala Bajwa, MSU’s vice president for agriculture and dean of the college. “Seeing today’s students come together with our alumni and Montana’s agricultural producers is always special. These events allow us to continue building and fostering the relationships that keep our state, our university and our industry thriving.”

Most events are free and open to the public and will take place on campus. Some activities require registration or tickets. A complete schedule is available at www.ag.montana.edu/celebrateag. Information for potential sponsors can be found at www.ag.montana.edu/celebrateag/sponsor.html.

The week begins Sunday with Jillien Streit, director of the Montana Department of Agriculture, appearing on Montana PBS’s “Montana Ag Live.” Monday features department kick-off events for students and alumni as well as a presidential prime rib dinner attended by MSU President Brock Tessman.

Tuesday includes a community chili feed, a Friends of Local Food panel discussion, and friendly competitions during the Celebrate Ag Showdown. Wednesday highlights an exhibition on agriculture and American Indian heritage along with an artist discussion.

Thursday brings together technology innovators and agricultural professionals at the Montana Ag-Tech Innovation and Investment Summit. The day also features networking opportunities between students and employers in agriculture, plus a panel discussion with recent graduates.

On Friday, participants can attend the Agricultural Economics Conference hosted by MSU Extension and the Department of Agricultural Economics and Economics at Bozeman Hilton Garden Inn. Other activities include a research showcase by undergraduate and graduate students followed by a social gathering where President Tessman will address attendees and recognize this year’s Outstanding Agricultural Leader.

Saturday concludes with an “Ag Alley” tailgate event offering food, family activities, demonstrations from student groups, leading up to the Bobcat football game against Weber State at 1 p.m.
