Montana State University reported on April 14 that its annual Spring Rodeo attracted a record-breaking crowd, with 16,274 fans attending the four-day event at Worthington Arena.

The event saw Montana State’s men’s and women’s teams win both weekend rodeos. The Friday and Saturday night sessions were sold out, each drawing more than 4,600 attendees. Thursday and Sunday also saw some of the largest crowds in the history of those sessions.

MSU Director of Athletics Leon Costello said, “Last weekend was a defining moment for Bobcat Rodeo. To see our student-athletes achieve that level of success in the arena while our community showed up in record numbers speaks to the pride and momentum surrounding the program. The support we’re seeing across all our programs right now is truly unprecedented, and it’s something our student-athletes feel every time they compete. Our fans truly make a difference, and their support is greatly appreciated.”

The university noted that this increase in attendance continues a trend of strong fan support for Bobcat athletics. In 2025, Montana State drew a school-record total of 21,609 fans to its ten home football games—the second-highest figure among Football Championship Subdivision schools—and led the Big Sky Conference in both men’s and women’s basketball attendance for consecutive seasons.

Looking ahead, university officials say they hope this momentum will continue to drive engagement across all athletic programs.
