Montana State’s men’s tennis team won one match and lost another on March 13, defeating DePaul 4-1 before falling to Boise State 4-0 at the Appleton Tennis Center in Boise.

The Bobcats’ victory over DePaul was highlighted by Yassin Elaroussy’s clinching win at No. 1 singles, which capped a run of four straight singles victories after losing the doubles point. Head coach Mateus Ceolin said, “Our guys showed a lot of fight. That was the most impressive thing.”

Sophomore Eddie Biss helped shift momentum with a straight-set win at No. 5 singles, while freshman Max Calaquian earned his first Division I victory. Andre Stewart also contributed with a win at No. 2 singles, putting Montana State within reach of the team victory before Elaroussy secured the final point in a three-set battle.

Later that day, regional power Boise State swept Montana State in all completed matches. The Broncos took the doubles point and won three singles matches in straight sets. David Ismanescu of Montana State was forced to retire from his match due to injury.

Following these results, Montana State’s record moved to 4-9 for the season.
