Montana State University is set to host the 2026 Rocky Mountain Intercollegiate Ski Association (RMISA) Championships, with events taking place in both Montana and Utah. The Bobcat alpine team will compete at Bridger Bowl from February 26 to 28, while the Nordic races are scheduled for Soldier Hollow in Midway, Utah on February 27 and 28. Schools participating include Alaska Anchorage, Alaska Fairbanks, Colorado, Colorado Mountain College, Denver, Nevada, Utah, Westminster, and Montana State.

Several athletes have achieved strong rankings as they head into the championships. On the women’s alpine side, Justine LaMontagne is tied for seventh in Giant Slalom and nineteenth in Slalom. Tea Kiesel ranks fifth in Slalom and tied for seventh in Giant Slalom. Lily Sewell is tied for sixteenth in Giant Slalom and twenty-first in Slalom.

For the men’s alpine team, Gianluca Boehm holds ninth place in Giant Slalom and twentieth in Slalom. Torius Hepsoee is tied for tenth in Giant Slalom and sixteenth in Slalom. Loic Spiegelberg stands fourteenth in Giant Slalom and seventeenth in Slalom. Bosse Mikelsson is thirteenth in Slalom and thirty-third in Giant Slalom.

“We hope to win our portion of the regional championships,” said MSU Alpine coach Kris Shampeny. “The team has been ramping up their performances and skiing in the past couple of weeks. They are really starting to put two runs together and it is exciting to see as we get closer to the NCAA Championships.”

In Nordic competition, Katey Houser, Felicie Chappaz, and Maeve MacLeod have finished their regular season strongly on the women’s side. Simon Chappaz, Grey Barbier, and Gavin Galyardt lead the men’s Nordic squad.

“We’re skiing well right now,” said Bobcat Nordic coach Adam St. Pierre. “We have a full team qualified for the NCAA Championships so this week will be about competing for a regional championship and solidify our standing for the NCAAs.”

The RMISA slalom qualifier starts Thursday at 9:30 am at Bridger Bowl; championship slaloms follow on Friday with giant slaloms Saturday at similar times. Full event timing details can be found at https://www.live-timing.com/races.php.

Nordic events begin Friday with a 7.5K Freestyle race at Soldier Hollow starting at 9 am; Saturday features a 20K Classic Mass Start beginning at 9 am as well. Live results are available at https://my.raceresult.com/383378/.
