U.S. Marine Corps veteran Rudy Reyes is scheduled to speak at Montana State University on Veterans Day, sharing insights from his military service and personal development. The event, titled “Self-Development: A Lifelong Power,” will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 11, in Inspiration Hall at Norm Asbjornson Hall. The talk is free and open to the public, with community members encouraged to register.

Reyes served as an elite reconnaissance operator after enlisting in the Marines at age 26 and joining the Reconnaissance Marine Community as a special forces operator. He has received 16 medals and commendations for his service. His experiences in Iraq inspired the HBO series “Generation Kill.” In addition to his military background, Reyes has appeared in Fox’s “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test” and the Emmy-nominated documentary series “Once Upon a Time in Iraq.”

During his appearance at Montana State University, Reyes will discuss how self-discipline, resilience, and purpose have influenced both his military career and life afterward.

“Having Rudy Reyes join us at Montana State University on Veterans Day is truly special,” said Todd Bucher, director of the Travis W. Atkins Veteran Support Center. “His story of service, sacrifice and personal transformation reflects the strength and resilience we see every day in our veteran and military-connected students. Rudy’s message of discipline, purpose and lifelong growth reminds us that service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off: It continues in how we live, lead and support one another.”
