The Hyalite Fire District responded on April 13 to a structure fire involving a large shop outbuilding in Bozeman, according to an April 14 statement. The incident occurred at 9:46 p.m., and crews arrived to find smoke coming from the building. Firefighters contained the blaze to the room of origin, and the occupant was able to exit safely.
This response is significant for Gallatin County, which is recognized as the most populated and fastest-growing county in southwest Montana, according to the official website. The quick action by firefighters prevented further damage or injuries during the event.
A total of four structure fire engines, two water tenders, one support truck, one ambulance, and three command units were deployed by Hyalite Fire District. Mutual aid partners contributed additional resources including three more engines, three water tenders, two command units, and a ladder truck. Assisting agencies included the City of Bozeman Fire Department, Central Valley Fire District, Gallatin Gateway Fire District, Fort Ellis Fire Service Area, and Gallatin County Sheriff’s Office.
Gallatin County operates as a local government entity dedicated to managing public records and elections while promoting historical preservation through organizations such as the Gallatin Historical Society; it also features natural assets like the Gallatin River renowned for its fisheries and clean water according to the official website.
The fire was determined unintentional. The building has been released back to its owner pending insurance review. No injuries were reported among residents or responders.
