Hailey Coey has been named the Big Sky Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for the third time this season, following her performance in the long jump at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational on February 13. The announcement was made by the conference office on Monday.

Coey, a senior, nearly matched her own school and conference record in Albuquerque, recording a winning jump of 6.46 meters (21 feet, 2.50 inches). She is currently ranked No. 11 nationally in the NCAA for the long jump and has won all three of her indoor competitions this year.

This recognition brings Montana State’s total to seven Big Sky weekly awards this season. Earlier honors went to Easton Hatleberg as Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after his shot put win at the Carignan Classic on February 6, and Sydney Brewster as Women’s Field Athlete of the Week for breaking her own school shot put record at the Stacy Dragila Invite on January 30. Sam Ells received Men’s Track Athlete of the Week for his mile victory, while Tilde Bjerager, Caroline Hawkes, Peyton Garrison, and Giulia Gandolfi earned Women’s Track Athlete of the Week after their relay team set a new school record at the Bobcat Challenge in Bozeman.

Montana State will finish its regular season by hosting the Big Sky Tuner at Kennedy-Stark Athletic Center on February 19. The team will then compete in postseason events at the Big Sky Indoor Track & Field Championships in Pocatello, Idaho from February 26 to 28.
