Five members of the Montana State women’s golf team were named to the All-Big Sky Conference teams following a notable regular season, according to an April 19 announcement. The Bobcats’ achievements this year included their first team tournament win in nearly 23 years, two individual victories, six top-three finishes, and four Big Sky Golfer of the Week awards over ten tournaments.

The recognition includes Lauren Greeny, Norah Seidl, Eva Heinz, and Ashleigh Wilson on the Second-Team All-Conference list. Maddie Montoya received an Honorable Mention. This marks the highest number of selections in a single season for Montana State and is also the most by any school in the conference this year.

Greeny led her team with a stroke average of 73.56 and set multiple records at the Diane Thomason Invitational: “She set the Finkbine Golf Course record for women’s low tournament round (8-under 64) and the Diane Thomason Invitational tournament record for low 54-hole score (211). Her round of 64 at that tournament is the second-lowest round in Montana State history.” Seidl posted a stroke average of 74.30 with several top finishes including tying for third at Yellowstone Intercollegiate to help secure a team title.

Heinz was recognized as medalist at Yellowstone Intercollegiate and broke program records with her performance there: “She set the program record for low 18-hole score with a 10-under 62 during that tournament while posting the second-lowest 54-hole score in program history at 9-under 207.” Wilson achieved five top-20 finishes as a freshman, including being her team’s top finisher three times during spring competitions. Montoya averaged a stroke score of just under seventy-six with two top-ten results this season.

Looking ahead, Montana State will compete for a conference title at the Big Sky Women’s Golf Championship from April 20 to April 22 at Wigwam Golf Club Blue Course in Litchfield Park, Arizona.
