The Bozeman Public Library announced on April 9 that it is closed for the rest of the day because of an emergency maintenance problem. The closure comes after all first-floor bathrooms began backing up, prompting library staff to call a plumber to resolve the issue.

The library said a contractor will thoroughly and safely clean the affected area once repairs are complete. Several scheduled events have been canceled as a result, including the Authors and Books event with Russell Rowland and Allen Morris Jones, xTool Training at 6:30 p.m., and Preschool Storytime at 10:15 a.m.

According to library officials, they currently expect to remain closed through the morning of Friday, April 10. “Thank you for your patience as we address this issue. Your health and safety are our top concerns. Before we reopen, we will ensure all bathrooms are working and all areas are safe for the public,” the statement said.

Community members are encouraged to check Bozemanlibrary.org or follow Bozeman Public Library’s Facebook or Instagram channels for updates on when services will resume.

The situation highlights how unexpected facility issues can disrupt community programs and access to resources. The library expressed appreciation for patrons’ understanding during this time.
