The Bozeman Public Library announced on April 10 that it will be closed for the day as repairs continue on a plumbing problem. The closure comes after a plumbing riser broke, with plumbers currently working to fix the issue. The library expects to reopen with normal hours and programming on April 11.
The closure is necessary because sewage reached the carpet in the Children’s Room, requiring additional sanitation measures and removal of the carpet. As a result, library officials said the Children’s Room will remain closed into next week while work continues.
Despite this setback, portions of the children’s collection will still be accessible outside of the affected room. Staff are available to help patrons find materials they need during this period.
Library representatives thanked patrons for their understanding as they address these issues and said they hope to provide an update on the status of the Children’s Room next week.
