Bozeman Police and Fire will face off at Haynes Pavilion on April 3 for the third annual Frozen Frontline charity hockey game, according to a March 26 announcement. The event, which begins at 7 p.m., is designed as a friendly competition between first responders while raising funds for local nonprofits.

The game aims to bring the community together in support of those who serve Bozeman. All proceeds from the event will be divided equally among three organizations: the Bozeman Amateur Hockey Association, the Bozeman Police Foundation, and the Bozeman Firefighters IAFF L613 Benevolent Fund. These groups provide financial assistance for youth hockey, promote public safety through education and outreach, and support disaster preparedness as well as community giving.

Jonathan Stewart, co-founder of EverGreen Adventures and founder of Frozen Frontline, said, “As a chronic illness patient, I’ve called on our frontline workers for their assistance in a number of challenging, health-related situations. As a volunteer hockey coach and avid fan, I wanted to find a way to honor our local professionals for all they do in our community.”

The event is presented by title sponsor Bozeman Health. Dr. Kathryn Bertany, CEO of Bozeman Health said: “We are honored to support our first responder partners. As the only acute care hospital in Bozeman, Bozeman Health’s partnership with Bozeman Police and Bozeman Fire is vital to delivering time-sensitive, life-saving care for our community.”

So far in previous years’ matchups between police and fire teams on ice, police have claimed both trophies with scores of 7-3 in 2024 and 6-5 in 2025. Stewart added that “the spirited rivalry of Police versus Fire is an exciting way to raise funds and showcase the skills of our first responders on the ice.”

Bozeman Police Foundation President Abram Antonucci said: “This exciting event is more than a rivalry—it celebrates the courage, unity, and service of our first responders who protect our community every day. While they stand shoulder-to-shoulder on the job, on the ice they will battle for charity turning friendly competition into meaningful impact.”

Entry is donation-based with suggested contributions set at $5 per person; donations can be made by cash or card at the door or online before attending. Organizers recommend arriving early due to limited space.
