At Montana State University, 88 percent of undergraduate students are traditional students – age 24 or younger – and 54 percent are male, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The four-year public institution in Bozeman enrolled 16,814 students in fall 2018, including 14,851 in undergraduate and 1,963 in graduate programs, data shows. 5.5 percent of undergraduates transferred from another college or university.

45 percent of undergraduates are residents of Montana, and 53 percent are residents of other states.

The undergraduate student body is comprised mostly of students who identify as white (84 percent) and two or more races (5 percent).

The school admitted 82 percent of the 18,637 students who applied for fall 2018. Of those who were admitted, 22 percent enrolled.
