Cost of college went up for all students at Academy of Cosmetology

Tuition and fees rose 1.4 percent for 2018-19 at Academy of Cosmetology, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Montana students paid $12,005 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $340 more than the $11,665 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 71 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 15 students received grants or scholarships totaling $72,340 and 12 students took out student loans totaling more than $52,455.

Including all undergraduates (35), 23 students used grants or scholarships totaling $104,750, and 18 students took out $81,900 in federal student loans.
